25th October 2018

Hundreds of youngsters in Kendal enjoyed a fang-tastic day of free-ky half term fun when they took part in the Little Explorers Gruesome Halloween kids’ club at Westmorland Shopping Centre.

Led by characters Sir Slim Spawn and Rita Ribbit, families enjoyed a host of activities from making their own gooey frog spawn slime to playing ghoulish lily pad racing games, hearing spooky stories and enjoying a trick or treat treasure hunt.

The activity was the launch of Little Explorers, the centres new kids’ club which will regularly host activities for families at the Kendal shopping centre.
One of the first to take part in the activities were eight-year-old Zac Burnley and his little brother Sebastian, six. They had been brought along by their Mum Melissa, 34, who said “The boys have had a fantastic time today, they loved making the slime and the characters were so engaging and entertaining. Two very happy boys and a happy Mummy too.”

Clare Winterson who brought along her daughters Amelia and Phoebe added “It’s great to see free activities like this taking place, there was so much for the children to do, the characters and their costumes were brilliant and so funny.”

Westmorland Shopping Centre Manager, Peter Gaynor said “We are delighted that so many families enjoyed our new Little Explorers kids’ club, it was great to see so many happy faces enjoying the activities. We look forward to welcoming more families for the Christmas kids’ club on Saturday 1st December.”
